Bagels and Lentils and Mango Pickles...oh my!

Here we go again :) Tonight we are making Spicy Red Lentil Soup (vegetariantimes.com/recipes/9938) and Handrolled Bagels (get ready for this...www.hubpages.com/hub/homemade_bagel_recipes_make_great_nadrolled_water_bagels_its_as_easy_as_baking_a_loaf_of_bread) and that's not a typo...the URL really does say "nadrolled". I can assure you that Kyle's nads will be nowhere near these bagels...and neither will mine :)

  1. Hmm... While I've considered making hand-rolled bagels, I've not once given a moment's regard to the idea of rolling them with one's nads. While I don't believe I will be trying that one any time soon, I just may make my own HAND-rolled bagels. I'd like to know how yours came out for you. Any troubles?

  2. They were amazing! We're having a little technical difficulty posting the pictures we took of them (in actual fact, I've lost my camera cord...but I'm pretending that is a "technical" issue!) but they were great. The recipe makes it seem like they're a real challenge to roll out, but that part was a breeze, and was lots of fun. We found a few of them split a little bit at the join when they baked, but that was only surface splitting and really only made them look even better. We tried sesame seed and poppy seed toppings, and they both worked wonderfully, but the flax seed ones were underwhelming...and the seeds kept falling off. Otherwise, I'd say they were a smash hit :)
